The 2023 Christmas Concerts will feature the rarely performed Missa Gratias agimus tibi (13th Mass) by Jan Dismas Zelenka. Composed in 1730, in Zelenka’s late style, this festive mass is scored with trumpets and timpani, soloists, chorus and orchestra, with courtly splendor and excitement. There are numerous short movements in contrasting styles making this Mass a lively and exciting work for performers and audience alike.
